Film Rating (Dushi)

There are different film ratings depending on what kind of film it is. We have decided that our film will be rated as 15. The ratings for films are done by the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification). [http://www.bbfc.co.uk/] click here to visit BBFC website.

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), originally British Board of Film Censors, is a Non – governmental organization funded by the film industry and responsible for the national classification of films within the United Kingdom.

They have different categories
:

Universal - All Ages admitted. there is nothing unsuitable for children. Films under the category should not upset children over 4. Example The incredible.

PG - All ages admitted but some scenes may be unsuitable for children under 8. Example The Simpson's

12A - Films under this category are considered to be unsuitable for very young people. Those aged under 12 years are only admitted if accompanied by an adult, aged at least 18 years, at all times during the motion picture. However, it is generally not recommended that children under 12 years should watch the film. Films under this category can contain mature themes, discrimination, soft drugs, commonly used milder swear words, and moderate violence/sex references. Example : Harry Potter etc

12 - Home media only since 2002. 12A-rated films are usually given a 12 certificate for the VHS/DVD version unless extra material has been added that requires a higher rating .Nobody younger than 12 can rent or buy a 12-rated VHS, DVD, Blu-ray Disc, UMD or game. Films in this category may include infrequent drugs, infrequent use of strong language, brief nudity, discreet sexual activity, and moderate violence.

15 - Onlythose over 15 are admitted. Nobody younger than 15 can rent or buy a 15-rated VHS, DVD, Blu-ray Disc, UMD or game, or watch a film in the cinema with this rating. Films under this category can contain adult themes, hard drugs, strong words, moderate-strong violence/sex references, and mild non-detailed sex activity. Example : Finale Destination

18 - Only adults are admitted. Nobody younger than 18 can rent or buy an 18-rated VHS, DVD, Blu-ray Disc, UMD or game, or watch a film in the cinema with this rating. Films under this category do not have limitation on the bad language that is used. Hard drugs are generally allowed, and strong violence/sex references along with non-detailed sex activity is also allowed. Example : Saw

R18 - Only adults are admitted, and can only be shown at licensed cinemas or sold at sex shops. This rating does not exist for video games yet. Films under this category have material the BBFC does not allow for its "18" rating, thus the violence and sex activity will be stronger in R18-rated VHSs, DVDs and films than those rated "18," but there is still a range of material that can be cut. In fact, more cuts are demanded in this category than any over category. Example : Deep Throat.

Filming trouble 2 (Dushi)

We were set to film on the on the Tuesday 21st of December, but this did not go on as we had trouble with the weather. It was snowing and therefore travelling to the location was very dangerous and most roads were closed. So we have made plans to film on the Wednesday 29th December hoping there will not be any other disruption.
Reason for not filming on Tuesday 21st December

In a lesson we conducted a questionaire on firstly what film name they prefer from this list:-

The Unknown
The Following
Le Suvie (translated from french to english - The Following)

We questioned 16 people of which:

13 choose = The Following
2 Choose - The Unknown
1 Choose Le Suvie

The name we will use for our film is going to be the following, we were going to use this name anyway but we checked with the group and others in our sixth form and they agreed.

econdly we needed a logo, or a font for the film, we created the following list of 5 possibles and we again questioned 16 people.

12 People choose number 4

3 people choose number 2

1 Choose number 1

We also selected number 4 so this is the selected font we are going to use for our film.. The Following.

Filming trouble (Dan)

One of the troubles we came across before filing was a difficulty to be able to get together to film the thriller. the main trouble is we wanted it to be dark, however not too dark as we do not have access to artificial lights, so we wanted it almost to be dusk, however with the time of the year being what i was it get dark very early, this meant that we have to get filming done before 4.00pm. Another problem we had was getting hold of key props, the car was a problem as we knew we had to film between 3-4pm and the car can not get there between that time. However we found another solution whichwas that we found a student in our six form who was willing to offer her car for the film. The car was essential to our filming, this was because it was involved in the main part of our film. our first option of car was a peugeot 308, but this car was not available but our replacement car was a Ford Fiesta which fitted our needs and therefore this was our second option. However going weeks without filming we decided to use first avalible car which was a Toyota Rav 4, this car suited the film perfectly as its menacing design at aggressive front contrasted well with the character.

Costume (Dushi)

The costume for the male in our film will be a black coat, jeans and also a red scarf and also a beanie hat. The problem for the costumes occurred when we could not find red scarf, but this problem was solved when we eventually were able to borough it from someone. The female will be wearing a Long black coat with jeans. The costume for the male needed to be intimidarting, a black coat is symbolically more dangererous, the hat and scarf will act as a disguise to hide the males face.

The weapon which will be used by the male will be a classic 80s weapon, this will be the style of our killer male in our film. He will only use unique weapons which are untraceable due to the age of the weapon.
